Under the title Names in Bavaria and Austria and among their neighbours , the 14th conference of the Working Group for Bavarian-Austrian Onomastics (ABÖN) took place in Linz on 23 and 24 April 2026.
At the well-attended conference, which takes place every two years, Florian Jordan and Vinko Wieser (Klagenfurt/Celovec) presented on the reference work Köttmannsdorfer Namens‐
using the example of five villages, whilst Martina Piko-Rustia (Klagenfurt/Celovec) spoke on the standardisation of Slovenian geographical names in Carinthia and Styria.
The conference papers are scheduled for publication in the book series Austrian Onomastics in mid-2027.
